dual lan cards question

i got like 4 lan cards(10/100) and got one in here, but i got an extra pci slot. if i were to put another card in, and connect it to my router, what would the advantages be? disadantages? would it make a diff for networking or anything? would it make the connection 200mbps instead of 100mbps?

It's the same concept as dual-core. Just as one thread can only be run on one core, but you can run two threads on two cores, a packet of information can only be sent through one network adapter. If you had files transfering from one computer to the other on one network card (in your LAN, not over the internet), you could play an online game, lag free, on the other.

but would it make a preformance increase on the net? cause each port is limited to 90 kb/s download, eg: all 3pc's can be downloading stuff, all at 90kb/s, so if i put two on here, and have those both connected to the router, would i download at 180kb/s?
