Help a newb....or not..Building my own rig

Hi!

I'm building my own computer. I want it to be able to 'hook up' to my home entertainment system. So I want to store movies and such on my computer and be able to play them from the computer, while watching them on my 61" HDTV, located in the room right next door ( about 8ft.)

Questions are:

What should I look for in a sound card?
What should I look for in a Video card?

My budget for a vid card is around $200, the lower the better.

Sound card? If it is going to be hooked up to a 5.1/7.1 and not used for games a great deal than a HDA X-Plosion DTS card will be good - better than a Creative.

Video card? Again if it isn't going to be used for games than anything as long as it supports the native res of the screen.
