I'm a college student and I just bought a laptop with one PCMCIA slot. I was wondering if those cards can be swapped easily. For example, can I use an ethernet card while I'm in the dorm and then switch it out to a wireless card when I got to the lecture hall where they have wireless internet?

Yes, Far as I am aware all PC Cards for laptops are hot swapable.

Yes, to remove one and add one, it requires little effort. ;p

if pressing a button is effort...cant u just get a cheap wireless router, keep it in the dorm, and keep the wireless in all the time? or just get usb ones(those gotta be the easiest), just have a usb hub with ur pritner, cam, etc... and put the adapter on there, so when u dock it, it automatically has internet. here
