I am currently saving up money ($800 so far) for a new computer, or a new television and a new gaming system (PS3?).

It's pretty hard for me to custom-build a system, because Newegg isn't available for me, and it'll be a year or so until i can get a credit card (I'm 18).

So...
I want to get a new Television first.
Can somebody recommend a good one for gaming, watching movies, TV, etc? I want to get digital cable with HDTV. Is this really worth the money to have HD? The televisions and the service costs so much more...

I was thinking of an RCA 30" HDTV, or something from RCA (they're pretty good quality and price)

So...help me find a nice TV for gaming, and keep the size under 32-inches. I've got a small room.

Thanx!

Maybe you can find a TV with a Celeron in it. :p

I'd get a new computer first if I were you. You could spend 2000 for a nice TV, or 2000 for a computer with a 24" 1920x1200 LCD. You choose. :p

Yes, i was thinking about that. But that's not in my price range.

I'm just thinking of a $1000 TV. I don't even think 30" televisions go up that high in price, unless you mention Sony.

Also, $2000 for a computer with 1920*1200 LCD...Where?

That, or you could build a "PC" and get a 24" Samsung 1920x1200 leaving you like $1200 for the computer.

Personally, id get the tv,(make sure its got hd15 or dvi in) then get the pc and use the tv as a huge monitor. also, how small is the room? with the new gen of lcd/plasma tv's u can hang it from the wall, or get a projector and make the whole wall a screen(want to do that so bad, i got an empty 8*13ft wall^_^)

I want a CRT television. Something nice to play console games on. And yes, RCA brand. Sony is a ripoff.

The General - The Mac's are in US or Canadian pricing? And is the shipping to Canada free as well?

Yes, Canada sucks at one thing; buying good things :p
You have to settle for less, for more money. I think at Future Shop they have a FX5500 for $160. TOO MUCH!

That Samsung TV looks nice, but Circuit City is American.

Since parts are so darned expensive, I'll probably look towards a pre-built, and add more memory so the graphics won't slow the PC down.

Forgot to tell you, my house isn't that big. I don't have room for a 24" monitor or a 40-inch TV.
