This is the CPU that i bought: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...70032092628&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1

This is my motherboard: http://tw2005.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Products/Products_GA-7ZM.htm

When i installed the CPU the screen was blank, I double checked everything and still it was blank. So i then re-installed my old CPU and everything worked fine. So i have come to two conclusions; the new CPU is not compatable with my motherboard, or the CPU was dead from before. Could you guys please tell me what you think. Thanks

I think the CPU is dead. Make sure the motherboard will accept a 462 chip.

Well its a Socket A chip and the motherboard only accepts Socket A.

socket 462 and socket A are one and the same.

this is why it pays to check compatibility lists:

and you used:

So basically this CPU is not compatible with my motherboard, is this correct?

EDIT: My bad it sayd 462 pin Socket A but, why would the CPU be 453pin? I always thought they WERE 462pin

Quoted from the link:

"453-pin organic PGA"

I just would like someone to tell me if the CPU that i bought is compatible with my motherboard.

Could someone please give me a list or send me a link of CPU's that are compatible with my motherboard? I've looked but found nothing
