Just got a 2nd CD drive but only one will work at a time

Bought a DVD burner off ebay and it didn't come with any software. Anyways, i hooked it up and it wouldn't work. So i started playing around with the wires. When i unplugged the wire from my original CD drive into my DVD burner it worked. Do i have to configure something in the BIOS to make the computer recognize both of them? Could someone please help me with this.

check the jumpers .. ( the master and slave jumper )
and then check the bios !

agreed. set one to Master (MA) and the other to Slave (SL) or set them both to Cable Select (CS)

If you're unsure how to change the jumpers, look for these on the back of the CD-ROM:

Just move the little plastic jumper to change them.
