Need a router That Blocks pornography

Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a good wireless router that can block/Filter pornography.I need one that can work effectively and block certain keywords etc. I understand its very difficult to block porn, but i need the best thing out there.

You'll need a firewall for that. Routers, AFAIK, are incapable of blocking sites.

Well I have found the following router on a website:-

This router has a Firewall, will this help me block unwanted websites?
How does this work? I was under the impression that firewalls only blocked out hackers etc?

Firewalls block unsolicited data requests. Works for hackers, works for sites. Some firewalls let you block specific sites.

what u need is not a firewall but a program such as or similiar to netnanny or any other filtering programs they will let u choose certain content such as well pornography racism or anything u find objectional i know aol and msn have such programs available. but with a firewall like previously stated u can only block sites not types of sites. google browser filters or something like that and u should get lots of results good luck and if u cant find anything let me know what browser u use and i will point u in the right direction

We live in a house with five PCÂ’s; I only have permission to install programmes on one Pc, which is my own. I cannot install any programmes, such as Net Nanny on the other PC's. Now, we all need to connect to the Internet wirelessly. Can I not just block certain websites and keywords via the router? This would solve the problem of me trying to install programmes on the other PC.

yes u can do that and any firewall including windows firewall will let u do that without any kind of installation but wiht the immense amount of obl\jectional material on the internet completely blocking out such content via firewall would be near impossible
