I'm running Windows XP Pro w/ SP2.

The wireless internet connection icon in the taskbar almost always says "Not Connected" or "Aquiring IP address." However, I have internet connection. Everything works just fine.

Is there something I can do to fix this short of disabling the icon? I know it's not a big deal, but it's the principle that something's not working right. I'd like to fix it.

Thanks for any help.

Use you internet by wireless connection?
If you don't use, then can disable the wireless connection, else, try setup wireless connection fixing, the ip number.

Molsen, when that happens what IP address do you get when you open up command prompt and type ipconfig /all ?

Does it match any IP address of any computer on your network or is it something like 169.254.xxx.xxx /16 ? or is it something typical like 192.168.xxx.xxx /24 that correspond with your current LAN?
