computer running slow

my friends computer is running very slow when he tries to listen to music and open anything up just takes a long time to open. things like that. he just got the computer a few weeks ago but i think he downloads music on it. what should i do to help him out and make it not so slow. if it helps it is a laptop with xp.

First of all, you should help us out, give us the specs. of the computer (How much RAM, CPU, ect. ect.) Follow Warez' intructions on the following page, see if it's virus', spyware, adware.

download ccleaner and remove all junk and unwanted files..

1 gig ram amd turion CPU 100gig HD

download ad aware se and spybot to eliminate any malware or adware and then check ctrl alt delete to see if anything out of the ordinary is running could be a trojan virus they replicate and take up alot of your cpu i just had to reformat to get rid of such an annoyance
