i have 256mb of pc2100, 256mb of pc2700 and 512mb of pc3200. my question is, should i use all the ram or what combo would work the best.

You can use all three but like ChaosBlizzard said they will run at PC2100 speeds. Depending on the processor you could use the PC3200 and PC2700 and the combo will run at 333MHz. If your processor runs at 400MHz then just stick with the one 512MBs of PC3200.

well my current system specs are

Cpu: p4 2.8ghz
Ram: in question
Mobo:ECS L4VXA2 V1.0C
-chipset: North Bridge: VIA P4X400
South Bridge: VIA VT8235
Hd: 40gb wester digital 5,400rpm
Graphics card: geforce 4 mx440 w/ 64mb ram agp 4x
Sound card : on board

with that said what do you think my best config would be?

the best would be to use the maximum memory speed type your motherboard supports. if pc2700 is the fastest DDR memory it supports than use that instead of pc2100 or pc3200. and i would suggest not mixing memory types, its just asking for trouble.
