How do you reinstall windows without formatting?

no.... i want to reinstall windows but i dont want my personal and important files erased

Best thing would be to partition your drive, put all your important files on that partition. If you're installing an 'updated' version, you should just be able to update the OS files, but I'm not completely sure on that. Best bet would be to partition your drive.
