Im interested in the ASUS P5B Deluxe motherboard...

It looks like it has an IDE slot, or two? The reason is I'm wondering is because Im having a hard time finding SATA DVD burners, or DVD drives, which the motherboard has like 7+ slots for. I'd rather go with the IDE, theres a better selection of drives out there. I just want to make sure its can support IDE drives, thanks for the help.

Im going with the SATA 3.0 gb/sec. hard drive though.

One PATA connector, which means you can have up to two IDE/ATA/PATA devices on it. If you want/need more, you'll have to buy a ATA controller card.

Plextor makes two models of SATA DVD burners, and Lite-On makes a single SATA combo drive (CD burner/DVD drive).

Don't get the Plextor sata optical drive, way overpriced. Unless you can find one for 30 bucks then knock yourself out, but over 100? You can always get one in the future when they drop in price.

Go with the Lite-on DVD drive they make some really good ones I have one that is 4 years old and still runs like a charm even with daily usage.
