gfx card for £50 - what can i get

Hi,

building and re-building pcs at the moment.

Have just finished building a new e6300, 2gig ddr ram, on an asrock mobo.

My current gfx is a nvidia fx5500 256Mb.

I don't have a lot of dosh left. About £50 so what is the best gfx can get for that.

Are you looking for a PCI-E or an AGP graphics card for your system makes a bit of a difference.

i have no idea how much that is since i dont understand punds (or whatever it is), i would take a look at the x1600s or 7600GS

50 gbp its about 100 usd .

and it has to be agp 8x i'm afraid.

About 100 dollars.. A 6600GT is a good card for 100$... i'd probably save up a little bit more though.

and that's a better card than the fx5500 yea ?

i probably would save up and get something more expensive but here's my problem. I bought the C2D and a cheap mobo $50 so i could use my agp card and my ddr400. I don't want to spend a great deal on a gfx cause next upgrade will be to a mobo that only supports pc-i and ddr2 so spending a lot on an agp card doesn't make sense if you see what i mean.

I guess get a 7600gs or a 6600gt... or a 6800xt... :\

with VAT and shipping that comes to almost exactly £50

that would be ideal apart from one thing.

No vga output. Only DV. My TFT is VGA only

although there is an adapter i could get.
