A mandatory update of the Windows Live Messenger 8.1 Beta is being sent out to testers via auto-update.
Version 8.1.0068 is identical to 0066 so expect the same features and the same bugs. Is this a move to shake off all unauthorized users?
NOTE: In order to auto-update using Vista, make sure Messenger is running admin mode by right-clicking the msnmsgr.exe file and select 'Run as administrator'. There's also still a conflict between Messenger and Shockwave on Vista which makes the software crash.
