Will any current Mobo's support Kentsfield?

I have an MSI 975X Platinum, any chance of getting quad core working on this?

im pretty sure that no mobos out now can handle 4 cores

The article on Anandtech said that any Core 2 Duo board should work with quad-cores. The Mac Pro's motherboard supports two of them. (Yes, 8 cores. :p)

I know coolaler from xtremesystems ran a kentsfield on his msi 975x platinum or what ever it's called i forgot.

Awesome, look's like my new setup should last years with a couple of possible improvements.

are you sure on that info about the Mac Pro? i have not investigated but i would be ~90% sure that you could not use Core 2 desktop processors in an MP configuration seeing as both Intel and AMD have made a habit of stripping MP support from non-server targeted cpus. Kentsfield is desktop right?

Everything I've seen on the 8 core systems have ben with Clovertown. They have shown 8 cores running in windows to.
