2x 7900Gt or 1 7950 Gx2

I am building a new coputer soon. What would give me better peformance. 2 Gf 7900Gt 512Mb in Sli mode or 1 Gf 7950 Gx2 1Gb

Get one 7950GX2, because then you can get another if you want to, later on down the line when they are cheaper.

Agree with General there. What you can also do is get the 7950GX2 for now, and then sell it when the DX10 cards come out.

Whether or not its "the point" it's still a good question. How does overclocking video cards work, when you have two of them in SLi, or Crossfire?

I looked around the other day and noticed numorous benchmarks of dual 7900gtx's beating a single 7950gx2 or sli'ed versions by a big margin. What about 7950gt's?
