Battery Low

I was using a refurbished Pentium III Desktop (no name). During the boot process, I kept getting a message "Warning: Battery low. 2.26V or V 2.26". I went into the BIOS setup and changed the CPU speed to manual. Now the computer will not boot. What happened? Could this be related to the CMOS chip and if not, what battery is the system referring to?

well there's on batter on the motherboard, and i think thats for cmos.. i had no idea those batteries could die

the battery on the motherboard is just a button cell battery. and if its really old it can die. but i didnt know that it would give a warning if the battery on the mobo is running low. try to change the motherboard battery and then resettin the bios. there should be a jumper next to the battery on your motherboard.
