always get a internal HD before u get a external one. external is nice. cuz u can bring data with u anywhere. and it works on almost all computer.

get the maxtor. cuz i have a seagate HD and after a year. I sometimes hear cracking sounds but i didnt have any trouble with my computer so far.

What about SATA 3gb/s or SATA 150..??

What the difference between then.. any way..?

You would need a different external case if you wanted an SATA harddrive. That case is for IDE drives. Besides, even with USB2 or Firewire 800, you wouldn't get any difference in speed from SATA and IDE.

Just get the biggest cheapest 7200rpm IDE harddrive you can find.
