Socket 775 - How Long will it last?

How long will Intel's LGA 775 socket last before it is superceded by some other connection? It looks as if the Quad Core Kentsfield will be released for it, but what about after that?

quad core is sorta out already for 775, was tested on 965i intel chipset. so dont worry, future still remains in 775. until AMD brings a BANG!

i think judging by the cryptic road maps it should be here until at least Q4 2007 or Q1 2008 but that is my guess. it is my understanding that Kentsfield will not be released on s775 as it is a Xeon core.

The Kentsfield is just to conroe's put together, not a Xeon Core.

LGA 775 should be a round for a while, however, Intel chipsets never seem to last long.

I wouldn't really go ape nuts about having a PCI-E I card though as the potential has not even come close to being met.

But then again, hopefully all cards will not be solely PCI-E II like how there is pretty much no AGP 8X anymore.
