Looking for a Laptop

I want to get a laptop so that way I can have a computer in my room at night, but they are so expensive. I was thinking of doing one of those survey's online that you get a free laptop, but so far I have not found a legitamet one. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Buy a used one on eBay for less money.

Those sites are all ******** for the most part. How could it possibly be that easy, and how could they ever make money doing it?
I would buy from a good seller on ebay or check like www.tigerdirect.com for something in your price range, they have some good deals since they also carry refurbs

The used ones are sometimes pretty bad, though. That's the only thing that worries me.
