something wierd happens

I used "Recover My Files" to recover my college entrace essay that got deleted when I restored my computer. However when i open the word document the essay does not show, instead there are about 20 pages that contain the following....repeated over and over

I need to finish my essay before the deadline and do not want to do a sloppy job retypeing it, is there any way to ....decode? this document to get this back in the way it was. i dont know y this happened with all the office documents, my mp3's and other things got recovered normally

that almost looks like registry type crap....u...iono, did u have a backup somewhere? should always have a backup(i keep one on mp3 player, psp, pc, backup hdd, spare pc, internet)so if something happens i got like 4 copies i can still get to. did u have a hard copy, like a printed one?

no, i had no other copies. and i do have an Western Digital external hdd but this is a brand new computer and i didnt think the hdd would crash. I was soo close to being done, just one more paragraph would have made it perfect and i could have submitted it, i was so proud of myself, best **** essay i've ever written. well i guess i should start over while the stuff i had on the lost one are still in mind...

yea, better get krakin on that essay....wow dude that sucks, ive only had that happed onece, but found a thumbdrive in my locker with it on it.

Unfortuantely colleges and universitys take a pretty dim view of pupils losing data. I know of plenty of students who have been automatically failed at the merest hint of the word "deleted"... Without explanation

**** that sucks. i atleast print after each edit on draft, so if i do loose it, i can either retype it, or atleast get a nice solid c on it.
