error while playing Generals

I get kicked out of Generals while playing the game and get a error message saying something to the effect of may be caused by overheating or hardware not meeting specifications. This used to happen frequently with my old comp and I figured cause it had a pci video card that was probably the problem.

With the new comp I'm well over spec so not sure as to why this would happen. Any suggestions?

I used to get the same problem with generals. I think its just a bug in the game. I would get "critical errors" when I played the game for extended periods of time. I wouldnt worry about it.

Try updating Game patch or reinstalling.

I just loaded the game on the computer (new machine) and updated it.

Bummer if that's normal for the game.

I'm wondering if my cooling isn't enough or if the video card is overheating. It's an xfx card and I have one 80mm case fan.

I have played Generals and Zero Hour a few times on my rig.. haven't ever had a problem....

You mentioned that you only have 1 case fan?? Typically, intake & exhaust fans will be equal in numbers (or CFM of airflow)... Do you have any software, like Speedfan than can monitor system temps?

The reason I currently only have one fan is cause I forgot to order a few I thought I had when I ordered the case earlier this year. I plan on adding 4 new fans. The fan I currently have I took out of an old machine I had and only had one. There's room for four two in the front and two in the rear. The mb came with PC probe 2 but I don't know if I can monitor while playing the game other than hitting the windows key and checking every 5 minutes or so.
