The internet connection from my home works fine as long as I go to https sites. It does not work for http sites. (Connection not allowed) Any suggestions?

No, it's crazy.

When it boots up, it will surf the web for about 3-5 minutes and then I get:

"The connection was refused when attempting to contact somedomain.com" and it won't resolve ANY http websites.

*However*, it will resolve https sites, just not http. What would cause this?

The first thing you want to do when that happen, is ping the web site, if you get a response with ping but you can't connect to the website using your web browser, then check the setting on the web browser.

If you can't ping the web site by name for example ping www.somewebsite.com, could be a DNS issue.

Just tell me which site you can't, I'll resolve it to IP address and let you ping the IP address to determine if it's DNS or a firewall issue.
