well... i'm only going to oc whatever i get to whatever my ram will take.. which is 250 mhz... well it can actually take about 270 if i up the voltage.. but 250 mhz is all i will give......
with everything i'm seeing 4400 seems to be in favor...
and as for opterons, it is a consideration.. but i don't know if i want to work with a lower multiplier when i only want to oc about 250 mhz... of course i always do my suicide runs for 3dmark and super pi... (highest i've hit was 309 fsb with my opteron 146!).... well i'm not a huge oc'er when it comes to cpu's... but i think 4400 seems more reasonable.. if the opteron 170 was still on newegg i would consider it...
and as for the no conroe.. nitestick got it right.. ionly want to upgrade the cpu... because i don't wanna have to spend a leg and an arm on ram..... but i am buying a new mobo for crossfire and handing this down to my dad along with a 7300 gt.....
i really do want conroe... but, i can wait for am3
