Light Usb

can i get a old usb cable and cut it off at the end and attach a light so then i have a usb kinda light thingo???

or the cabling from a fan... so have a light for inside the computer i am just fishing around for ideas and also if i did it form the usb port there is 4 wires which does what..

Splice the + from the light into the red wire if its a 5v light, or into the yellow wire if its a 12v light (or use an LED, the correct resistor, and splice into the 5v line) and hook the negative to the black wire. (From the molex connection)

Take an old USB cable, and cut the sleeve off. Inside, you'll find four wires plus a ground wire. Cut the GREEN and WHITE wires off, and cut the ground off (the ground is the bare wire).

Now, splice the RED and the BLACk wire. The RED wire is 5v, and the BLACK is 0v (kind of a ground).

You can buy a few bright blue LED's, and wire them in parallel. Make sure to use the proper resister.
