This is strictly for gaming, high demanding games ie oblivion fear and all those awesome games :) this is my second build but im kind of out of ate so advice is wanted thanks!! I want to keep it below 1000 bucks, but i only need a new mobo, video card, processor, and ram.

For my video card i choose the nvidia 7900gt because i did my research and it out performed any other card in the race by 5-10 fps in all the games they tested:
BFG Tech BFGR79512GTOCE Geforce 7900GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail - 350$$

For a processor i went with the intel core 2 duo conroe because for the same reason it, out performed the others in the gaming charts:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 - Retail - 360
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115003

For mobo i searched and finaly picked the asus because of great reviews and i used in the past and was really user friendly and easy to work with:
ASUS P5LD2 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail - 109
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131538

For ram i got because it was highly rated and a friend advised it:
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail - 260
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231065

Which comes to a total of 1079, and looks great for all my games but if you could give it a quick review and any advise that would be awesome! thanks aton guys!

that mobo doesnt support your processor... you have to look with something that is 965p or 975px or something like that.... and just look that doesnt show core 2 duo on it.. soooo.. keep looking for the mobo

how old is your psu? wattage? brand? it might be obselete. And do u have a dvd drive? cause u need that for a lot of games. I dont think Oblivion has a cd version, but im not sure. I know hl2 and bf2 do, though.

Yeh i was 600 watt power and a very large case has like 13 fans in it its like a networking orr something made for like 10 hd's so i mean its large and up to date put the 600 watt in there and that is pretty nice keeps the power comin, the thing with that mobo is its really expensive and that would put me over 1000 by quite abit. and why do you pick that graphics card as aposed to the other one? any other suggestions for the mobos also will intel run the games as fast as an amd i don't quite understand that i hear that amds are for games but howcome the intel out performed it? Thanks again.

Some of the 945 boards do support C2D, but they are the crap Intel chipset.

If you want Asus, go with the P5B Deluxe. It is one of, if not the best C2D mobo our right now.

But yeah, don't stick that CPU and that RAM in some crap mobo. They're just too good for it :p

definately good choice with the ram, seeing as thats what im going with in my build :D . For a good MoBo for not too much gop with the gygabyte ds3. It's 139, but you should be able to make room for it in your budget. It isn't SLI or x fire, so if you want that then it isn't your board. But ds3 is one of the beter overclockers right now for core 2 duo systems. heres a link to it.
