I need electrical help

I want to make a ghetto fanbus type thing, so I don't have to use up all my molex's for my fans.

I want to make it so I plug one female molex into a male molex, and then that powers three more.

I'm just not sure how to wire it, I can't remember, please refer to my MSPaint diagram.

Red = Positive
Black = Negative (or ground I guess)
Grey things = molex

Will that work? Or will that light on fire?

looks correct to me. make sure to use the yellow 12v line rather than the red 5v line.

Don't put them in series, put them in paralell.
putting them in series splits the voltage.

do'h, too true. didn't really think about the implications, rather whether or not it would work. as apokalipse said parellel would be far better so basically branch all three fans off one line instead of connecting them all in-line.

Yellow is more powerfull fan wise than red and black is just ground so it doesnt matter.

molex cable:

yellow = +12V DC
Black = 0V (return wire for +12V)
Black = 0V (return wire for +5V)
Red = +5V DC

Yes I know what wires to use, I was just using red because red = hot.

The General: That costs money, and only has two lines. The one I'm making can have as many as I want, and it's free.
