I am having a problem with my Promise PCI card i just bought. Its the 300Tx i believe they call it. Anyway they only way i can start my computer without an MBR error or what not is having the hard drive with the OS on it on the PCI Card. The card is installed properly and everything. I would want my OS to be running from my mobo sata and not my pci for performance reasons. How can i get it so it disables the PCI card and goes to my Mobo first for looking for the hard drive then to the pci card. My mobo is a Abit KV8 Pro. I have the boot order right. CD Rom to hard drive then to floppy.

sure there aren't any options for priority of controller cards vs. onboard. sometimes it will take a controller card for first priority. does the controller card have a BIOS you can access?
