Bad Hardrive or what?

My dads computer is having issues. When he reboots it freezes and wont restart the light comes up orange. If he shuts it down and waits less then 4 mins to start it backup it will also show a orange light and wont start. My thought is it may be a bad hardrive or maybe motherboard. I am completly off? Its a Gateway its kind old not sure the exact model if needed let me know. THanks guys

So the computer will not turn on at all? An orange light is a sign of a bad motherboard. Open the case and take a look inside. Do any fans spin? Is the powersupply getting a green light when you plug it in?

You may also want to check your psu...it may not be giving enough power to keep everything running this causing your hdd to slip and freeze up

Yep check all the fans...esp psu and cpu..

Check the motherboard, a beatle managed to climb into my friends computer and fry teh motherboard, dont ask me how.
