looking to upgrade to new video card

I currently am running a 6800gt and would like to upgrade but not sure as what to upgrade too...I have not been keeping up on new tech as of late so would like some help on ideas. The rig is for mostly gaming as I use other pc's to work and search the web. I have been looking at the 7800gt models as they are in my price range(new baby means less $$ for my toys).Are these cards any better than my current card? I would apprishiate any help as I would like to get ordered soon.

ok u wil lsee a great performence improvement but the 7900gt outperforms the 7800gtx and is cheaper ul have 24 pixel pipes fully dx9 suported 3.0 shaders and fast ram

ya 7900gt is what you should get, NEwegg has them for like 240 dollars after rebate by EVGA

The last I checked the 7800GTs were about as much as the 7900GTs on NewEgg.
