I'm trying to install WIN XP pro sp2 onto a computer that has run it before.

Using one CD, I got far enough to edit the partitions. I deleted all of them so that I could just have one partition on the already small 6.4gig drive. Then a 20% into the formatting, I get a BSOD error, which I didn't pay attention to.

I then booted from the same CD again, and after loading all the modules, but before I get to the format screen, I get a BSOD with the following message:

STOP: c000221 Unknown Hard Error
\SystemRoot\System32\ntdll.dll

So, I obtained another xp cd, and got the same error.
Swapped out the HDD, and got the same error
Got yet another New CD. Same error
Removed 64meg stick of pc100 ram (was in tandem with 128meg pc133 stick)

Finally I consulted the internet.

Most sources point me towards booting in safe mode or last known good config (I can't), Or to uninstall and drivers o software that I have installed recently...

A few sources say that hardware is the issue (which it must be), However, which part exactly still remains cloudy.

I have heard CD drive, HDD, power supply, Bios issues, even IDE cables are the source of this issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks. I actually found that same thread. The differance is that I have already swapped out the ram, and I don't have windows installed at all.
