Thanks for the quick reply EricB. this is where my ignorance really shows through, I dont think she has any cd's for installation the computer was given to her.

How do I find out what type of motherboard it is? When it comes to the inside of the computer, Im totally lost.

The only info I found on this computer was
Computer:
ACPI Uniprocesser PC

Hard Disk:
WDC WD1200 JB-OOGVAO (or 00GVA0)

Display:
NVIDIA GEFORCE4 MX Integrated GPU

CD-ROM:
Lite-On LTR-523275

Processor:
AMD Athlon (tm) XP 2500+

Just tell me where to go (wont be the first time..........lol) and I'll do my best to get the info.

Im not real sure on that Nvidia site exactly what I should be downloading.

Run Everest first to get the name of your chipset, then download the drivers for that chipset.
