Newbie building a computer! What else is new?

I'm not much of a video/media type guy. All my computer usage consists of:
World of Warcraft
Downloading Music/Videos & Watching them
Playing around on the internet
Playing Strategy/Role-playing games
Doing college work

Things of that nature. I guess I fall more into the "casual" computer user category.

that overkill for what u do man. you can build a computer with a amd 3800 x2 saves like $200.

If you decide you want to go with an AMD setup, here's a link to my wishlist on newegg to give you some ideas. I'm going to be building that computer after I build a pink one for my girlfriend. I don't do much gaming either, just racing and shooting games every now and then, I mainly do a lot of video and image editting. Anyway, here's the link, hope it helps.

Thanks for the replies. I do have a question, though. Would it be better to buy this motherboard:

It seems to get better reviews than the other motherboard I picked, plus it can support SLI/Crossfire (in case it's needed later on down the road). What does everyone think?
