multiple processors?

Hi, this may sound like a stupid question but is there any possible way to have more than one processor or video card running at the same time, by dividing up the load?

processor: multi-tasking with a dual core or multi-processor system or using multi-threaded software

video card: SLI or Crossfire

ya get a dual core CPU and SLI for graphics card. however you cant just decide to put those things in you will need to replace the motherboard processor, graphics card and most likely ram too.

right, is there like a computer that someone already thought out to assemble like that?
what i mean is how do i know exactly what to put together?

i am currently building a Core 2 Duo system which is a dual core processor you just need to find the motherboard that will support the processor (ex: mine motherboard supports socket 775LGA and core 2 duo processors) then if you want SLI as well you will have to get a motherboard with SLI features too. my new system build has both so find a board with those features.
