I'm upgrading the CPU on my motherboard and was wondering if there is a write up on this. The only area that i'm not sure about is how to transfer the fan from the old CPU to the new one. Can anyone help me with this? thanks

well in general you need to remove the old thermal grease or the rements of the pad.

Wipe as much as you can off, and prep the surface with isopropyl alcohol.

Install the new CPU

Apply a new application of thermal grease

Install Heatsink

remember only to apply just a tad of grease on the die....

which would be the black (or holographic looking) rectangle in the middle of the cpu.

Honestly, read the instructions that come with it. They will be straight forward and tell you exactly what to do.

The processor must come with the heat sink, under the heat sink their is already a thermal paste on it.
