QuickTime for Widows (no i-tunes)

XPpro/SP2 fully updated.

Installed QuickTime 7.1 for Windows with no problems shown.

But when opening from the icon, immediately got a small error panel: Error 47 Invalid url and just the top toolbar of QT 7.1 appears.

Have re-installed, run chkdsk and sfc /scannow all to no avail

Any ideas what the error means and how to rectify?

uninstall quicktime alternative (k-lite or another codec pack). it conflict with quicktime

Haven't installed quicktime alternative or k-lite or other codec pack
but if can't resolve this may try quicktime alternative.

Quicktime 7.1 for Windows (no itunes)

Resolved the problem
1.Found the offending URL was from Real Player
2.Uninstalled Real Player. 7.1 Opened normally
3.Re-installed Real Player
4.Unistalled 7.1.
5.Found a web site for 7.02 (which had worked before)
6.Installed 7.02 and it ran normally switching from Real Player
7.Downloaded 7.1 and installed over 7.02 as an update.
8.7.1 ran normally with no error

Sent details to Apple!
