Yep, apparently with the fan at it's max, 6490 rpm, it's still at 49* celcius on idle.

So, since I just got it, I don't want it to get ruined right away. I've been thinking of protecting my investment and purchasing a new fan. Can any suggest the type of fan I need?

Return Mail Authorisation. basically you request an RMA from a manufacturer and if they grant it you can send it back for repair/replacement. personally i wouldn't say it is overheating though. definitely running a little hot but not overheating. my guess is that the chipset HSF has shifted while being transported so try remounting it with some AS5 before you do anything.

Well I tried, and apparently the thermal paste has dried out. So I reapplied and yet again it ran hot, this time 2 whole degrees hotter. Just my luck.

=\

So is it fairly safe to run the chipset at 50/52 degrees celcius?
