Best brand of monitor?

i'm going to buy a new LCD monitor, however i don't know what is the best brand of monitor, Sony, Philips, Samsung.... etc.

What brand should i buy?

i myself love samsung.. if your wanting to save money.. acer is a very good company as well.... but again, i'm on samsung's side

Then why ask if your freind says it's no good? I own two Samsung SyncMaster 204B's and am quite pleased. But what do I know...

Ben-Q are very good and got some nice flatscreens out.

Ive had my 17" Ben-Q for about 8months now and its been great

I own a Viewsonic, I find it to be very pleasing and on par with most monitors.

I have to say a viewsonic. I am going on to purchase my second 19" widescreen LCD from viewsonic (newegg of course, 208.00) because I loved my first. Its DVI output looks fantastic, and the 1440x900 resolution is just rediculous

I got a 20.1" 16:10 BenQ from Newegg.com for $280, excellent picture, excellent size, 1680x1050 resolution, I definitely recommend it.

But 1440x900 isn't even close to ridiculous,

My 15.4" laptop has a resolution of 1440x900.

Ben-Q, Viewsonic, Samsung, and Acer is what I usually hear of LCD brands.
