Hey wassup everyone, I OC'ed my AMD 3200 to 220mhz last night and did a 9 hour toture test from Prime95. Through out the 9 hours there was no warning or errors.
As said...it's all about your configuration. Depending on your RAM and BIOS and many other factors you may be able to push it a lot further. It's also what you are comfortable with. I have my 3200+ Venice at 2500Mhz and don't really want to push it farther...although I'm sure I could...I figure I got 20% more performance out of it. Some people however have them at like 2.8. I would also recommend viewing the overclocking database at DFI Street. It proves helpful in seeing what others have done with their machines.
I am running my 3200 venice at 2.4 ghz. Thats a 400 mhz overclock and the difference in temperature settings is like a few degrees. I could probably go to 2.5 ghz with confidence. Just make sure you watch your temperatures when overclocking and you will be fine.
