Alright I know this is a really stupid question, but the last time I really opened a computer was when i had a Pentium I @ 166Mhz and Serial ATA II simply did not exist. Instead I had to daisychain (if i wanted more than one HD) 2 hard drives on one huge ribon cable. Now, I would like to know is (I) How much faster Serial ATA II is than IDE, and (II) if i would notice a difference if i had 10,000r.p.m. [a] hard drive compared to 7,200?

Futhermore I'm considering the Asus M2N-SLI-Deluxe motherboard (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2253297&CatId=2320), which I belive it has a RAID controller, how does this work compared to the conventional RAID PCI card?

elaborate

EDIT:would a 10,000 =r.p.m. HD really make a difference if its only SATA 150 compared to a 7,200r.p.m. HD thats running the SATA 300 interface?
