Wierd activation issue

1. This is a LEGIT copy of windows that I bought from my school book store.

I recently re-started my computer (the first time in a while) and when it booted back up and after I log on it tells me I need to activate before I can proceed. So I figure I'll just hit okay and re-enter my key code.

Well once I hit okay the activation window comes up and tells me that windows has already been activated and to hit the 'close' button. Well when I hit close the cycle starts over.

What should I do?

do you have an internet connection it could be trying to connect to the net to register the version and is unable to so it restarts again.

I do, but once the activation window opens it says that windows is already activated.

Try a windows repair.

you overclock at all? most likely a corrupt windows file, happened to me as well.
