I got an error message that I had a corrupted file and I needed to place my Windows CD in the drive to correct the problem. I placed the disk into the drive and began reinstalling Windows when my computer shut down. Now everytime I place the Windows CD into the drive, the following message is received:

file\i386\NTKRNLMP.exe could not be loaded. The error code is 7.

Is it possibe to do anything to try and fix my computer, repair Windows, or even re-install Windows. Any assistance great appreciated

NOTE: By the way, my computer has no floppy drive!

Thank you.

you can reformat and reinstall a completely fresh version of windows or you can preform a repair on the os to fix any corrupt or missing files. if you would like to repair let me know what version of xp you have Home or Pro.

Thanks for the reply, but my computer will not boot from the Windows CD. So I cant do as you suggest.

what do you mean it will not boot from the cd? do you not have a cd drive? you need to set the bood order in the bios for it to boot to the cd.
