Please Help With Linksys!

I have the router WRT54G v1.1
My wireless PCI card is WMP54G
I can find and connect to the access point, but cannot connect to the internet. I've called linksys a bunch of times. (tehy ar retarted) PLEASE HELP!!!

make sure you have the dhcp client enabled on your pc aswell as the DHCP server setup on the router so that you can get an IP. first try start > run > cmd > ipconfig > see if you get an ip

i do, but it is 169.......

how do i enable DHCP

start > right click my computer > manage > services and applications > services > dhcp client > make sure that is set to automatic

also make sure it is enabled in the router by going to router setup (192.168.1.1, or whatever your default gateway is i believe thats the one for linksys)
