Hi and thanks for taking the time to see if you can help.

My new rig:

E6600 Core2Duo
GigabyteGA965PDS4
2x1GB ddr2 800Mhz - - - Or it should be!
X1900XT 512
Qtechnology 400W silent PSU
2x 80gb samsung spintpoint Hard drives in Raid0 setup.

I dont know how to get the ram running at 800MHZ.

I have set the CPU host frequency to 266Mhz (as instructed in the Mobo user guide) for a 1066 FSBchip, which the E6600 is.

Using easy tune5 i tried to change the frequency of the ram to 800 from the displayed 665Mhz. This just caused my system to not reboot.

Got windows re-installed, and here i am.

I ran CPU-Z and it told me my ram timings were 5.5.5.15 and the frequency was 333Mhz !!! The ram should run at 4.4.4.12!

Whats going on? Easy tune says the ram is running at 665 and CPU-z says 333 . . . they cant both be right!

Can someone give me a difinitive answer on this one? I havent spent £160 on ram to have it running the same speed as low end DDR ram!

Any help would be much appreciated as this is frustrating the **** out of me!

go into your bios and look in there... sometimes companies default your memory on "auto" so you have to change it to reflect what kind you have. DDR whatever
