Hey,

Im currently needing to build a new computer urgently as the one im one sucks :p

a few things im unsure of

the gfx card....looking at either a X1900XT card or a 7950GX2

which one is the better card for gaming and which is more future proof?

here is the spec im wanting

will this be any good for music + games

plz post true opinions :)

The 7950gx2 is better for gaming. When you say music do you mean listening to it or making it?

listening to it :p...on big 7.1 surround speakers

so maybe instead of the radeon i should go for the geforce 7950GX2?

will be getting a standard 17" tft....havent decided if 19" yet but will when my minds fully made up with the computer

the processor gonna be fine?

thats what ive came up with now....any problems?

Ok dude seriously don't get that card, it's waaaay overpriced. Personally I'd go with a 7900GT and wait for the DirectX10 cards such as the r600 cores byt ATI and G80 cores by Nvidia. The 7900GT right now can play and game today with ease.

Na if he's going to wait for a X10 card why even get a 7900gt. Just go with the 7950. This will eat up the best looking games no prob.

Yea but why spend that much more money on a few frames? If the card was permanent then spend a lot but if he's going to replace it in 4-5 months get the 7900GT. It's still a killer card and has no problem with any game today.

I believe that qualifies as "permanent" (at least in the PC world). I would go with the 7950GX2 as planned.

My $0.02.
