So here is the deal. I have about 1600 dollars to spend for a new computer. I am using an old dell which gives me about 40 FPS in HL2 games. So I came across this website and saw this gaming rig. The link is http://www.digitalstormonline.com/twisterproamd02.asp So how good is this rig compared to my old Dell 4600 Dimension (2.4ghz ,Geforce 6200 with 256mb, 512 MB ram). How good would this be in playing newer games like BF2, and new games coming out like Crysis. I am a noob when it comes to computers, but feel I know enough to build one. Would it be cheaper to build it? What is the best way to go with $1600 and can I get more bang for my buck in place of that rig? I would greatly appreciate it if someone would help. Thank You.

I can promise you that not only would it be cheaper for you to build one... you would get the parts you want, and probably better at that. obviously you want a system for gaming? and 1600 os your budget? do you have any parts that you might use from your old system? monitor? keyboard? mouse? DVD burner? etc... or would you want a whole new system to have a second computer in the house?

have to agree

buy the parts separately and build them. for 1600 for budget, you can get a mindblowing computer....

oh, and it would kick your old dell's butt...:p

Well I would keep my old monitor, my old Diamondback mouse and headset and keyboard. I have on old DVD-RW drive thats only 3 months old and a HardDrive thats only 4 months old. But when I go to newegg, and enter in the same stuff or comparable to these custom computer sites its about same price. wats the best way to go

all good, except for sound...the onboard is better..just a ques. but y do u need a cd-rom drive? the dvd-ram will read cd's, but if ur usin it to copy cd's then ya ur good...besides those 2 things, ur good, maybe with the xtra money go for liquid cooling.

EDIT: your going to need a floppy drive for bios updates
