Worth it to AS5 the GPU?

Just wondering how good the stock thermal paste is on the eVGA 7900GT KO Superclocked.

I have been using some Antec Silver Formula 5 stuff...probably exactly the same as AS5....but I've never applied anything to a GPU before. Is it the same kind of deal as the CPU? Will I have to do the RAM modules too?

This is with a stock KO cooler btw.

AS5 usually makes a few degrees' difference, but this isn't important unless you're having heat problems or are overclocking. Yes, it's the same as putting it on a CPU. But it probably isn't worth the trouble of taking the stock cooler off, adding the AS5, and then putting it back on.

So I'd do it if you're overclocking or are putting on an aftermarket heatsink, in which case you'd probably be overclocking anyway.

DEFINITELY! my gpu sits around 45-47*C w/ a 10% OC. it used to be 51-53*C plus you'll probably find that the paste on there right now is all crusty and hard... use rubbing alcohol on a low-lent cloth to help get it off
