***I dont know if all these are compatible, so if anyone knows about any incompatibilty, i'll appreciate the advice. For now, I'm fixed on getting the AMD with AM2 socket, but I'm no know-it-all when it comes to the motherboards. Which mobo do you think i should take? Also, I've been considering getting a combo CD and DVD burner instead of two separate ones but i've heard they're not as good. Do you think I need a floppy drive? Many people say that I dont need it.

oh, and i'm absolutely in love with the computer case :D
looks like it's a good one.
thx for helping.

if i were u i would eliminate the floppy disk drive no need for that the case is super bad *** looking but other then the floppy disk drive i think ur pc sounds pretty pimp in my opinion

thx ITZBVAN005 for the quick reply

i've heard that the ECS motherboards are kinda iffy. any suggestions?

so it looks like about $1000 for the tower? core 2 all the way

$981.92 and the soundcard has $40 rebate

well, i have absolutely nothing against intel but the reason i'm going to use am2 is because there's a current transition to this technology, meaning more will be available later on, and because my friend said he can hook me up with a cheap price for the processor if i was interested.;)

however, i do like your idea of getting a combo drive, and this one seems like a crazy good deal:

ummm, guys... i was just about to order when something told me i should go for a double check. i happened to read a post and it said that the Gigabyte mobo is not compatible with my memory. i heard it needs 800.

so looking for input my friends:(

Sakeri said:
the gb mobo needs 800 or more... I have the same mobo

i'll take your advice. thx.
so you say you have the gigabyte mobo. how is it in terms of durability and fuctionality?

also, the voltages for most 2x 512MB packages seem 1.9 V or above.
the mobo supports only 1.8 V ram right?
