Registry cleaners

I downloaded 3 different registry cleaners for my computer and each one found about 433 errors. Should I clean, and should I back up my registry. Doesnt damage my OS right?

Registry information is just program settings. I never backup my registry information, nor recommend it. CCleaner is excellent for getting rid of old registry information. And no, it doesn't damage the OS.

RegistryFirstAid is good. I liked it a lot. Easy to use, caught everything, and some things others didn't.
