Dvd Drive Dirty

Hi, i have been burning with no problems for a few years now and today iam getting error msg DVD drive is dirty and burning cannot complete bacaue of this! anyone know theres a cleaning tool i can use
or will i have to clean it manually! all tips welcome

go to target or walmart and buy a disk cleaner they have little brushes on the disk and whipe the lens clean.
